At NBS, we strive to minimize construction costs while effectively addressing foundation repairs and creating additional space. To achieve this, we adopt an efficient approach by installing the drainage system from the inside (and outside as needed), eliminating the need for multiple soil removals and significantly reducing labor costs. Our comprehensive drainage system consists of five components, ensuring a dry and protected house and basement:
- Integration of Existing Drainage: We connect all existing drainage pipes to the new system, ensuring seamless functionality.
- Retaining Foundation Drainage: A pipe is laid along the bottom of the foundation to collect rainwater, effectively managing moisture.
- Basement Slab Drainage: Below the new basement slab, we install a perforated pipe to capture groundwater, preventing water accumulation.
- Roof Downspout Management: Downspouts from the roof are connected to a solid pipe, diverting water away from the property to prevent water-related issues.
- NBS Rainwater Collector (‘French Drain’): Where feasible, we install a rainwater collector using a combination of gravel, a filtering system, and perforated pipe, facilitating efficient drainage.
To ensure optimal functionality, all drainage pipes are connected to a dry well located at the lowest point in your yard, with a depth of up to 4 feet and positioned 20 feet away from the property line. This strategic setup effectively manages and directs excess water away from your home.
By implementing this comprehensive and cost-effective drainage system, NBS aims to create a dry and secure environment, mitigating potential water-related issues and optimizing construction efficiency.
